G-Class Body Armor System

The Overland-G Aluminum Body Armor Kit defines the external structure of a Mercedes G-Class prepared for expedition use. This is a complete protection architecture built as one system, where each component is designed to function together under load, impact and real terrain conditions.

System Architecture

The system integrates protection across the entire vehicle — front, rear, side and roof — forming a continuous structural layer. Recovery points, load paths and mounting interfaces are aligned across components, ensuring consistent behavior during off-road use.

The kit includes an aluminum front winch bumper, an aluminum rear bumper, heavy duty aluminum rock sliders with reinforced mounting brackets and a modular expedition roof rack platform.

Front and Rear Protection

The front bumper is built around a steel core structure combined with aluminum outer sections and a lower skid. This configuration allows the system to absorb recovery forces while maintaining a lighter outer shell. Configurable grille inserts and weld finishes allow visual customization without changing structural integrity. Available in single and dual motor winch configurations.

The rear bumper follows the same principle. A steel central structure supports winch loads, while aluminum outer sections reduce weight and allow modular configuration. Available with or without rear winch integration.

Side Protection

The aluminum rock sliders are mounted directly to the factory chassis points and are designed for load-bearing contact. They function as structural protection when navigating rocks, obstacles and uneven terrain. Reinforced mounting brackets are available as part of the system or as a standalone replacement solution.

Roof Integration

The expedition roof rack platform extends the system vertically. Built from aluminum and supported by an additional fifth mounting row, it increases rigidity and load capacity. The platform supports lighting systems and expedition equipment without compromising structural balance.

Compatibility

Compatible with Mercedes G-Class platforms W460, W461 and W463. Due to variations between model years and configurations, compatibility should always be confirmed before purchase.

Configuration Options

The system can be supplied unpainted or finished in a customer-specified color. Multiple configurations are available depending on winch setup, component selection and intended use.
