G-Class Portal Axle Conversion System

The Overland-G Portal Axle Conversion Kit changes the drivetrain geometry of the Mercedes G-Class to increase ground clearance and off-road capability.

Portal Axle Principle

Portal axles position the wheel hub below the axle centerline. This raises the differential housing, increasing clearance at the lowest point of the drivetrain.

This approach improves obstacle clearance without relying only on larger tires or extreme suspension lift.

Ground Clearance and Capability

By lifting the axle centerline, the system allows the vehicle to pass over terrain that would normally contact the axle housing. This expands the operational range of the G-Class in technical off-road environments.
