Which M57 variant is recommended for a swap build?
The M57D30 in 218 bhp specification is the most commonly used variant for off-road swaps due to its balance of output, parts availability and upgrade potential. The later M57N and M57N2 variants offer higher stock outputs but require more attention to fuel system and ECU integration. FastMotion kits are developed for the D30 as the primary specification.
Can I combine the M57 swap with a ZF 8HP automatic gearbox?
Yes. The M57 to ZF 8HP conversion is available as a combined package. This requires the ZF 8HP adapter plate, electronic controller kit and driveline interface components. FastMotion supplies all of these as a complete system alongside the core engine swap kit.
