Overview
A separate premium upgrade to the G-Class platform — not part of the standard suspension package. Portal axles lower the differential height relative to the wheel centreline, providing ground clearance that suspension lift alone cannot achieve. In Overland-G builds, the portal axle conversion is treated as a complete vehicle re-specification: it involves axles, suspension geometry, wheel selection, tyre sizing and, where specified, the onboard CTIS-type tyre pressure management system — available exclusively through portal axle builds.
Integration
The portal axle conversion defines the baseline around which wheel and tyre selection and the suspension specification are built. These systems are developed as a set once the portal axle decision is made.
